I think Oscar is having some problems understanding spanish and English as well...

By no means I Want You (not to mention I Want to You ) can be the proper translation of Te Quiero. If you say "I want you" by its own it can only mean the sexual desire (if you like). On the other hand, you may say "I want you to be someone better" and that's when you would translate it as: "QUIERO QUE seas alguien mejor".

If you pay attention to subtitling you would notice that 90% of the cases "I Love You" is mostly common translated as "Te quiero" except when you can identify a deeper realtionship: in that case it'd be "Te amo".
