A cholo is a person of mixed ancestry. I believe originally of Latin American origin it refered to a person whose parents were Native American and Spanish. The term is used in the United States to refer to a person who prsents him or herself as mixed Latino and American. It originated here as a part of the "La Raza" movement and has been adopted by young people both gang and non-gang related.
