"mas noite foi
má", I don't think the evening was "wonderful", despite whole context of conversation. The conjunction "mas" (but) indicates the opposite: he was working during the morning at CT (I wonder what is "CT" in Portuguese, I don't have any clue!) but the evening was bad.
Yes, "andado" doesn't mean "to walk" but it is a synonym of the verb to be
