I grew up speaking what is commonly referred to as "Pocho" in my sphere of the world. As such the Spanish that I became aquainted with was a regional dialect that did not qualify as true "Spanish". In the last 10 years or so I have attempted to become more proficient in Spanish by listening to Spanish media and by taking advantage of every opportunity to converse in Spanish with persons who are native speakers of that language. Although I have never studied Spanish formally I have a good fundamental grasp of it and would like to continue sharpening my skills at it. Consequently, I have joined this forum in the hope of benefitting from the most assuredly better Spanish speaking skills of the other participants. I look forward to communicating with and learning from you all. O.A.
