soccer
15000 spectators were present at Anfield Road to watch an exciting and entertaining
encounter between Germany and Argentina. The Germans were euphoric after their victory against Poland with 0-3, while the Argentines wanted a revenge after their defeat 0-1 against Belgium. It seemed like this game would be decisive to see who would accompany Belgium to the next round.
Germany started cautiously with a 4-4-2, while Argentina chose to attack via the flanks with a 5-3-2. In the first half, the two teams tried to get to the penalty area, but hardly disturbed the goalie, so that, after the first 45 minutes the score was still 0-0.
It seemed the second part would be the same until in the 66th minute, Adriel Lautaro Arilla marked the 0-1 for Argentina. 10 minutes later Germany scored through Aleta Max. From then on the two teams continuously attacked without altering the score.
But when it seemed that the two teams would walk from the game with one point,
it was Aleta Max again, who succeeded with a cunning move to give Germany the victory in the last minute.
I am a Belgian : Those were the days for Belgian soccer,
that game Argentina/Belgium is still vividly remembered here !
