2007 was perhaps not the best year for Hollywood, but it did pick up toward the end: 3:10 to Yuma, In the Valley of Elah, The Assassination of Jesse James..., Gone Baby Gone, American Gangster, No Country for Old Men, I'm Not There, Sweeney Todd, and, saving the best for last, There Will be Blood.

I hate to go off on a tangent, but these movies can be put up against the output of any year and be quite strong. Unfortunately, there were about 100,000 sequels, prequels, and threequels being made and drowned out the truly good films that were produced, but 2007 was a solid year overall.
