culto is the word for Protestan church.
orar y rezar, at least Catholic church uses both. I think Protestant churches use more the word
orar. But when in Catholic church you refer to prayer, at least in Cuba, people don't say
rezos (a word which is more identified with santeria, the Afrocuban religion), they say
oraciones.
I am sure there are other differences and peculiarities in other countries.
